The Las Vegas Justice Courts in Partnership with Clark County Social Services, The neighbourhood Justice Center and Legal Aid of Southern Nevada is primarily in charge of the Nevada Eviction Diversion Program. The program, is also supported by the Nevada Supreme Court with the Las Vegas Justice Court, playing a leading role. The goal of the program is very basic. To provide case workers, legal aid and rental assistance to eligible tenants experiencing financial hardship, focusing on seniors and people with disabilities.
In most recent news, starting Monday, the programing will successfully pilot to provide services to residents in Henderson and North Las Vegas.The eviction diversion program boasts of a ninety percent success rate and according to Jonathan Norman with the Nevada Coalition of Legal Service Providers, the state files about 85,000 evictions annually.
Due to the pilot program’s success, state lawmakers appropriated millions of dollars during the twenty twenty five legislative session for expansion purposes, including fifteen million for Clark County.
The process starts with a visit to your local legal aid office. From there, qualifying applicants should receive legal aid representation, rental assistance. Once assistance is received applicants should get assigned a Clark county case manager, whom will assist with employment.
